The three start-ups Wattpark, Geoflex and Vianova won the first edition of the “Mobility 4.0 Challenge” organized by the Software Republic, a new European ecosystem created by six leading companies: Atos, Dassault Systèmes, Orange, the Renault Group, STMicroelectronics and Thales to innovate in intelligent mobility In the presence of Cédric O, Secretary of State for Digital Transition and Electronic Communications, the winners received their prizes from the challenge’s jury.
Atos, Dassault Systèmes, Orange, Groupe Renault, STMicroelectronics and Thales, via the Software Republic, are pooling their expertise in mobility, artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, connectivity and digital twins to create the mobility solutions and systems of tomorrow. The aim of this open innovation ecosystem is to jointly develop and market solutions and systems that will enrich the mobility offer for territories, companies and citizens.
The Mobility 4.0 Challenge
Open to start-ups and anyone else wishing to become a player in a new European mobility, this competition, launched on September 6 to mobilize around innovation for sustainable mobility, was based on five themes: improving the user experience related to the electric vehicle, multimodal accessibility, intelligent transport, cybersecurity and an open theme. More than 150 projects were submitted, from which the Software jury members shortlisted 10 finalists. These finalists were then given access to the Software Republic’s data to create or improve disruptive use cases, with the support of experts from our six companies. They were able to take advantage of this prototyping phase, which ended on December 6, to flesh out their innovative projects. The three winning start-ups, after the jury’s deliberation, will be able to join the Software République incubator in February 2022 and bring their projects to fruition with the support, expertise and resources of Atos, Dassault Systèmes, Orange, the Renault Group, STMicroelectronics and Thales.
The 3 winning start-ups of the Mobility 4.0 Challenge 2021
- 1st prize – WATTPARK: Wattpark is the “Airbnb© of chargers” It allows owners of a charging station to share and rent it. It helps drivers locate a charging station, connect to it and pay easily, thus avoiding any stress in the driving experience of electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles.
- 2nd Prize – GEOFLEX: Geoflex is a service operator enhancing GPS / GNSS applications to achieve secure and accurate positioning, down to 4 centimeters, on land, at sea and in the air. Geoflex provides universal hyper-geolocation to trains, cars, ships, drones, smartphones…but also for last mile delivery in smart cities.
- 3rd prize – VIANOVA: Vianova is developing a road safety algorithm that will benefit both cities and motorists by identifying and informing them in real time of dangerous incidents on the roads or high accident risks in certain areas.
The jury also selected three “favorites”: Parcoor, Pasqal and Search Mobility.
Parcoor proposes a threat detection software deployed on the device and based on a new approach combining central system data monitored in real time and state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms that are light, fast and explainable. It provides on-board cybersecurity and real-time autonomous detection.
Pasqal: The transportation sector generates masses of data. Combined with complex real-world situations, it makes it difficult for conventional computers to process it in a way that would allow building reliable models and accurately predicting potential problems, within a reasonable computation time. Quantum processing potentially provides a way to efficiently develop and train classifiers, predictive models and optimizers.
Search Mobility develops a B2B mobility solution dedicated to green travel. It enables CSR functions to manage commuting data, promote eco-mobility and responsible employee practices to reduce the company’s footprint, and strengthen employee engagement in the company’s CSR strategy.
