On June 30, the Village by CA Paris organized the fifth edition of the Village Awards in collaboration with Les Echos Entrepreneurs and Alliancy, a ceremony that aims to reward the best cooperation between start-ups and large companies in four categories: the most effective cooperation, the most unexpected cooperation, the jury’s favorite and the public’s prize. The FULLSOON x Accor duo won the jury’s preference in the “Most Unexpected Cooperation” category, as well as that of the public.

Founded by Crédit Agricole, the Village by CA is a startup gas pedal. It puts its startups in touch with large companies, ETIs, SMEs, schools, universities, etc., which make up its ecosystem of partners to carry out high-potential projects.

The first Village by CA was founded on rue de la Boétie in Paris in 2014, the network currently has 42 Villages in France (Bordeaux, Caen, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Orleans, Paris, Toulouse…), Italy and Luxembourg. The Village also has relays in the largest international cities (London, Moscow, New York, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo…) to help startups in their international development.

The Village Awards 2022

On May 16th, 9 startup x large group duos were selected among the 15 who came to present their project at the Village By CA Paris in front of a jury of experts:

  • Yves Vilaginés, Head of the Echos Entrepreneurs department,
  • Catherine Moal, Editor-in-Chief of Alliancy,
  • Jacky Chang, founder of ParisFashionShops,
  • Christophe Dandois, founder of Leocare,
  • Marion Choppin, founder of Listen Léon,
  • Guillaume Clere, founder of Reverto and winner of the 2021 “Unexpected Cooperation” prize.

On this occasion, Fabrice Marsella, CEO of the Village by CEA Paris, who hosted the ceremony, declared:

“Once again this year, we received numerous applications from all over France, Italy and Luxembourg: a fine example of the dynamism of entrepreneurs and the willingness of major groups to work with them! At the Village, we are proud to encourage collaboration around projects that make sense and have a positive impact on the environment and society.”

On June 30, the Village by CA Paris once again brought together its ecosystem of startups and large corporations to unveil the best collaborations. The jury was the same as on May 16, while the public tallied over 497 votes during the evening.

The winning projects

Most effective cooperation” category: Neoratech x VINCI Energies

Neoratech transforms the equipment of technicians working in danger zones by equipping them with personal protective equipment and on-board technologies. This project convinced VINCI Energies, as the construction sector is the one most affected by electricity-related accidents (29% of electrical work accidents, 3% of work accidents are fatal, i.e. 10 times more than other ordinary accidents).

Catherine Moal, editor-in-chief of Alliancy, and Jacky Chang, founder of ParisFashionShops said:

“We particularly appreciated this duo because the electrical risk is major in the field of construction and public works, it is a market with a high potential. There are 10 times more work accidents in this field than in others! You have developed a project that allows you to use Tech to improve the safety of men and women working on construction sites.

Category “Most unexpected cooperation”: FULLSOON x ACCOR

FULLSOON has developed an AI-based predictive algorithm that helps reduce food waste (more than 10 million tons of food wasted each year in France). After pitching to ACCOR’s Innovation division, FULLSOON received €150,000 and above all the mentoring of Damien Perrot, Global Senior Vice President Design & Innovation of the group, who accompanied this young family business.

Guillaume Clere, founder of Reverto and winner of the “Unexpected Cooperation” 2021 award, emphasized:

“This category was one of the most challenging. We really appreciated this intrapreneurial success story and this family history. It’s important to be careful with resources and there are few solutions that allow you to act before you waste.”

FavoriteCategory: Blue Frog Robotics x Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports

The goal of this collaboration is to make 1,750 tele-education “Buddy” robots available to students affected by serious, long-term somatic diseases. They will be able to attend classes in their school in real time, alongside their peers. The TEDi program is a world first in terms of school inclusion for young people with illnesses.

Christophe Dandois, founder of Leocare, Marion Choppin, founder of Listen Léon, explained:

“The three duos were very interesting but we were unanimous on the nomination of Blue Frog Robotics and The Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports. This duo uses the best of tech to show the best in humans. It’s both an unexpected, effective and forward-looking cooperation.”

Audience Award: FULLSOON x ACCOR

The public voted live during the evening via a QR code accessible during the evening. In total, more than 497 votes were cast, of which 29% went to FULLSOON x ACCOR and 28% to HANDSOME x Crédit Agricole Payment Services.

Hassan-Ali Chaudhary, founder of Fullsoon, concluded:

“This is a real recognition for Fullsoon! Thanks again to Accor, who believed in us and allowed us to start a family business.
