Last week, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Vietnam inaugurated its International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence, in partnership with the NAVER Group. Its scientific director, Professor Hô Tu Bao, is one of the most prestigious Vietnamese researchers in the field of AI and its applications.
With the launch of this international research center, Vietnam hopes to convert itself into a hub of the artificial intelligence world. At present, the center has about 50 scientists from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology and some international experts from universities, institutes and technology groups.
This center will first of all connect the various AI research institutes throughout Vietnam, but also strengthen links and cooperation with AI-related research institutes or industrialists around the world.
The ultimate goal is to develop fundamental research to create 100% Vietnamese core technologies. The development of AI applications in different sectors is not excluded, with a view to accelerating the process of digital transformation and the development of Industry 4.0 in Vietnam.
In the near future, the training of new experts in the field of AI is to be expected. Hanoi University of Science and Technology and its partner, the South Korean NAVER Group will in this sense, collaborate in the construction and smooth operation of the international AI research center.
