Three French start-ups selected among the twenty finalists of the EIT Digital Challenge 2021

As part of the eighth edition of the EIT Digital Challenge which focuses on deep tech companies, twenty start-ups were chosen to participate in the final of the competition. All of these companies cover a wide range of topics and offer innovative services or products using sophisticated technologies. Among these start-ups from ten European countries, three are French: Cibiltech, Connecting Food and Flowlity.

A competition to support the winners in the development of their start-up

For the past eight years, the EIT Digital Challenge has been looking at deep tech companies and offering them the chance to take part in a competition to win the grand prize: a full year of support and guidance from the EIT Digital Accelerator worth €50,000 for the three winning companies, as well as €100,000 in funding for the grand prize winner.

For this 2021 edition, the finalists were selected from 409 applicants from 10 different European countries. Each of these companies has, on average, reached a turnover of one million euros, managed to raise nearly 4 million euros and employs 27 people. It is worth noting that 45% of the finalist start-ups were created or are run by women.

The winners will be announced at a final online event on September 21, during which the finalists will speak in front of a panel of experts. Three French start-ups have been selected to defend the colours of French innovation: Cibiltech, Connecting Food and Flowlity.
