The fourth edition of the Soph.I.A Summit will focus on sustainable development, mobility and intelligent territories

Organized by the Université Côte d’Azur, the Communauté d’Agglomération de Sophia Antipolis and the Sophia Club Entreprises with the support of the Alpes Maritimes department, the Soph.I.A Summit is an annual event that presents the latest advances in the field of artificial intelligence. The fourth edition of this event will take place from November 17 to 19, 2021 in Sophia Antipolis. Several applications of AI will be discussed, including medical and biological research, sustainable development, mobility and intelligent territories.

A fourth edition under the sign of seven topical themes around AI

For this fourth edition, the Soph.I.A Summit will be held in a hybrid format, both face-to-face and remote, to allow as many people as possible to attend all the speeches, conferences, round tables, demos and posters of the various national and international experts who will be present. The call for project submissions for the Soph.I.A Summit has met with great interest from the scientific ecosystem, with nearly fifty applications received.

Seven themes will be the focus of the 2021 edition of the Soph.I.A., namely: developments in the fundamentals of AI, AI and health, AI and biology, AI and mobility, AI and intelligent territory, AI and sustainable development, and the relationship between AI and management.

A program with the intervention of experts in the field of artificial intelligence

Several experts will speak during the fourth edition of the event:

  • Francesca Rossi, Global Head of AI Ethics at IBM and research staff member at the T.J. Watson IBM Research Lab.
  • Lucille Siolli, Director “AI and Digital Industry” at the European Commission.
  • Anna Kreshuk, postdoctoral researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing, University of Heidelberg, Germany.
  • Matthias Nessner, Professor at the Technical University of Munich (Germany).
  • Laurent Daudet, professor of physics at the University of Paris Diderot (France) and former member of the Institut Universitaire de France, but also technical director.
  • Joshua Gans, Professor of Strategic Management at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Canada.
  • Alexandre Bayen, Associate Professor at the University of Berkeley (USA).
  • Alan Mosses, Professor and Research Chair in Computational Biology in the Departments of Cell and Systems Biology and Computer Science at the University of Toronto (Canada)
  • Gabriel Peyré, Director of Research at the CNRS, in the Applied Mathematics Department of the École Normale Supérieure (ENS).

Researchers, academics, students and private companies can register (whether to attend the event remotely or in person) by following this link. Moreover, it is still possible to apply for the presentation of posters and demos: for more information, it is necessary to contact by e-mail the organizers (sophiasummit21@sciencesconf.org).
