The Sophia Summit was held from November 18 to 20, 100% online. Organized by Université Côte d’Azur, the Sophia Antipolis Agglomeration Community and the Alpes Maritimes department with the support of Sophia Club Entreprises and 3IA Côte d’Azur, the event has established itself over the past three years as a must-attend event in the field of artificial intelligence and its applications.
In 2020, in order to adapt to health constraints, the organisers and their partners had chosen a 100% digital format. From November 18-20, the Sophia Summit held its third edition. Created in 2018, the summit has established itself as a high-level scientific meeting place for artificial intelligence and its applications in the fields of health, biology, intelligent territories and sustainable development.
The 2020 edition, despite a constrained health context, is a true and frank success. For 3 days in the form of Web TV, the speakers followed one another, allowing researchers from universities and private companies to create numerous opportunities for exchange and cross-fertilization. A virtual exhibition room, still available on www.sophia-summit.fr, allowed registrants to browse between scientific posters, and partner demos and presentations.
A first assessment allows us to conclude, despite the new format and context, that the audience is increasing, more scientific and more assiduous over each day. Out of a total of 400 registrants, between 250 and 300 individual connections per day were recorded.
Here are some key figures of this 3rd edition:
- 3 days of Web TV via 2 streaming platforms Zoom and Teams in order to satisfy the safety constraints of all participants and facilitate their participation and interactions (chat, live).
- A scientific program of international level: 15 keynote speakers, 28 talks, 2 round tables
- 400 minutes of video program
- A 360° virtual stand with 3 demos and 25 scientific posters,
- 3 cameras, 4 stage projectors, about fifteen computers, a complete control room, and tens of km of cables.
- 4 A/V operators, 4 Visio operators, focused on direct
- 400 registrations, 300 individual connections per day
