German company SAP, which designs and sells software specializing in management and maintenance, has announced the acquisition of SwoopTalent, a company specializing in machine learning software for human resources management. Their main tool of the same name will be integrated into the SAP SuccessFactors suite, which provides cloud services in personnel management. With this arrival, SAP wants to develop the human experience management strategy and rethink its business by integrating changes related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Acquisition to integrate SwoopTalent’s solution into SAP SuccessFactors
This week, SAP announced the acquisition of SwoopTalent. The firm said SwoopTalent’s data and machine learning technology will integrate with the SAP SuccessFactors suite of solutions to strengthen SAP’s vision for human experience management (HXM). Founded in 2012, SwoopTalent has developed an AI-based platform that combines, analyzes and trains data from HR systems and workflows.
SAP wants to be a player in the digital transformation of its customers by prioritizing individual employee experiences and dynamic opportunities to boost structural engagement and improve organizational task implementation. The firm plans to use SwoopTalent’s technology to enhance its AI capabilities and provide customers with a holistic and regularly updated view of their employees.
Meg Bear, product manager at SAP, elaborates further on the topic:
“By making workforce data more reliable and accessible, we can help our customers gain powerful insights into their workforce to effectively improve, renew and redeploy talent and prepare for the future of their business. SwoopTalent’s founders are industry thought leaders with proven expertise in using data, machine learning and analytics to elevate human resources and make organizations more competitive. We are excited to have them join SAP to advance our HXM strategy.”
Rethinking SAP’s HXM strategy with the addition of SwoopTalent
With this acquisition, SAP gains intellectual property from SwoopTalent and the company’s employees will also join the SuccessFactors team. Stacy Chapman, CEO of SwoopTalent adds:
“Organizations are at a pivotal moment as work is redefined around agility, purpose and culture. […] With HXM, SAP has the right vision and strategy to provide technology that enables individuals to develop and create a career that is aligned with their interests and skills. SAP and SwoopTalent are a perfect cultural fit and share the same values. We are excited to continue to grow HXM together.”
SAP began working on HXM about two years ago, and has invested heavily in enhancing the SuccessFactors HXM suite with new features. As offices begin to reopen while adopting the changes built in during the pandemic, many companies are rethinking their organizations.
SAP and SwoopTalent have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or other financial details of this transaction.
