On September 9, 2021, an event took place in connection with the AI experimentation in Hauts-de-France. This event was an opportunity to present the assessment of the two and a half years of the initiative in the presence of Bruno Lucas, general delegate for employment and vocational training (Ministry of Labour, Employment and Integration). Three round tables and the presentation of a white paper were on the agenda.
An initiative on the impact of AI on jobs and skills in the Hauts-de-France region
It was on January 29, 2019, in the Lille metropolis, that was officially launched, in the presence of 300 guests and under the sponsorship of Cédric Villani, an unprecedented experiment on the impact of AI on jobs and skills in the Hauts-de-France region, in the form of a commitment agreement for the development of employment and skills (EDEC).
The signatories of the agreement, the State (DGEFP and DREETS – ex Direccte), the Medef Lille Métropole and the OPCO AKTO, joined later by the Hauts-de-France region, displayed on this occasion a strong ambition to make AI a lever for growth and jobs for the region, by mobilizing the ecosystem around 3 major topics:
- Training
- Support for companies and their employees
- Awareness, communication, creation of a network
Two years later, the organizers talk about the outcome of the initiative:
“The assessment is extremely positive and shows the capacity of regional players to get moving to collaborate and create the synergies that make the emergence of innovative projects and partnerships possible.”
