Milestone Systems, an open platform IP video management software (VMS) vendor, has partnered with Two-i, a technology company specializing in AI software development. The collaboration aims to provide an AI-based video analytics solution for VMS. Two-i’s contribution will give users access to an AI interface dedicated to analyzing live or recorded video streams.
Two different software products…
The AI software company Two-i has developed a video analysis software solution with integrated AI, which won a prize at the Milipol Innovation Awards, in the Safe & Smart Cities category. This automatic video analysis technology aims to detect, determine and identify events in space and time. It also provides behavioral analysis and other forms of abnormal situation detection.
For its part, Milestone Systems, publisher of VMS software, has designed an IP video management platform that can be used for corporate, retail and institutional video surveillance. The software plays back live video streams from video surveillance cameras and also allows users to monitor and search for previously recorded video streams.
These are two pieces of software with seemingly different foundations, but which will be brought together in the collaboration between Two-i and Milestone Systems. Julien Trombini, co-founder and president of Two-i says of the tie-up:
“We chose to partner with Milestone Systems because we share the same DNA: interoperability, transparency and agility. We make data talk and Milestone is a unifying platform. Our association was more than obvious! This strategic partnership will allow us to offer all Milestone Systems users a complementary solution allowing them to do 24/7 real time and post analysis of video data, and this from a single channel of discussion with the VMS!”
… but complementary
The partnership between the two companies aims to use Two-i’s software solution to enhance Milestone Systems’ VMS system. This first software will offer users new parameters that can be used on the VMS. They will be able to interact in real or delayed time, with personalized alerts, statistics or data forecasts, in an intuitive AI interface that features an interactive map.
Guillaume Cazenave, co-founder and CEO of Two-i refers to this new usage in his words:
“Existing video infrastructures produce a huge amount of data that cannot be processed by humans. So, combining a VMS system with cutting-edge technology such as AI, is a real decision support tool, for a better return on investment.”
Meeting the needs of territories and businesses
The use of this tool brings, according to the two structures, a concrete response on the issues of security, mobility, waste management or crowd management. It is also part of a desire for ethical use of technology while meeting the growing needs of smart cities and territories.
Davide Schiavon, head of the Milestone Systems technology partner community, talks about the solution found by his company and Two-i to offer a more competitive VMS:
Beyond the technology, the meeting with Two-i was also a strong human encounter and I have no doubt that our association will be successful! Two-i will be able to benefit from the field presence of a world leader in VMS, and on our side, we will be able to bring a complementary technological brick to the market with a unified and innovative solution, notably thanks to live and post-search. And that’s unique on the market!
