Milestone Systems, a provider of open platform IP Video Management Systems (VMS) software, and NVIDIA, a global hardware provider, announced last month a partnership to bring artificial intelligence to the heart of cities. Combining their expertise, they will offer two online conferences this November to explore in more detail how artificial intelligence could play a role in facilitating the management of a city and significantly improve the safety of citizens.
Concrete examples to better understand how new technologies can participate in the development ofsmart cities. Organized on November 18 and 25, online, they will allow to discuss the subject of intelligent video protection with key players in the sector.
Conference: artificial intelligence to improve the quality of life of citizens
In collaboration with XXII, another player in video protection in France, this informative and visionary conference will take place on November 18, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., in French. It will be animated by :
- Amaury Chapeau, Community Manager France, Milestone Systems,
- Davide Schiavon, Sales and Business Development City AI, NVIDIA,
- Thibault Pindat, Chief Business Officer XXII.
According to a study published by BVA Group in May 2021, 45% of French people believe that the use of tools such as intelligent video protection is an opportunity. The use of new technologies should therefore become a priority for both private sites and local authorities. During this hour-long conference, we will discover how the deployment of video and sensor technologies in public spaces, notably via the XXII CORE software platform, can improve the quality of life of city residents. Practical use cases such as the detection of illegal dumping, the identification of nuisances linked to groupings or the understanding of traffic and many other daily examples will be evoked.
The various presentations will help to overcome the lack of information on these tools and to show local elected officials and citizens, in a precise and documented way, how to make the most of the performance of video technologies to become a Smart City. The conference will aim to promote the democratization of the use of intelligent video protection solutions. The important points that the speakers will address are:
- What are the available use cases?
- How to take advantage of the benefits of this type of tool?
- What types of French solutions exist?
- Is the installation of an AI product complex?

Webinar: Artificial Intelligence to better protect citizens
In close collaboration with Two-i, this webinar will be held on November 25, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, in French language. It will be hosted by :
- Amaury Chapeau, Community Manager France, Milestone Systems,
- Davide Schiavon, Sales and Business Development City AI, NVIDIA,
- Julien Trombini, Co-founder & Chairman, Two-i.
The various speakers, all specialists in these subjects, will show that the role of artificial intelligence in the city of tomorrow is also to ensure the protection of citizens. They will discuss the idea of setting up an intelligent video surveillance system capable of guaranteeing mobility on the road, preventing accidents, detecting anomalies and, finally, saving lives. This webinar will provide a real immersion in the different applications of artificial intelligence with examples of Two-i demonstrations.
Important points that the speakers will address are:
- The role of AI in the city of today and the future
- The specifics of a scalable platform to facilitate integration into the control room, achieve faster and more accurate predictions, reduce ownership and monitoring system costs, eliminate technology bottlenecks

Milestone and NVIDIA Partnership Review
Last month, Milestone and NVIDIA announced an ambitious partnership aimed at turning data into action and boosting video analytics and prediction performance. The two video leaders will pool their resources and experience to develop a platform that aims to provide better analysis of data from sensors connected to Milestone Systems’ open Video Management Systems (VMS) by facilitating the integration of artificial intelligence solutions.
This partnership between Milestone and NVIDIA has been designed by both companies to be very flexible and scalable. It will be able to integrate additional functions and new technologies in order to operate more efficiently using video and artificial intelligence. It’s an important alliance, but also a unique one because it links the most widely deployed sensor network with AI interpretation and prediction.
To do this, Milestone and NVIDIA will use NVIDIA’s Metropolis platform, which was launched in 2017 and will facilitate the natural integration between the two partners via the creation of a secure platform. It will enable the transformation of data into action and is expected to be available globally.
The agreement between the two companies is all the more important as France will be hosting major global sporting events in the coming years, including the Rugby World Cup in 2023 and the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. Remy Deutschler, CEO France of Milestone Systems, said:
“Our open platform unleashes the technological possibilities around video, to enable it to solve challenges that have a scope that goes far beyond security. To take our innovation to the next level, we wanted to partner with the leader in Deep AI to enable our customers to turn data into action, to accelerate use cases! The association with Nvidia was a natural one for us and we will work together to develop a specific platform in France to link our two technologies.”
Christophe Legrand, Country Leader of NVIDIA Enterprise France, also highlighted the importance of this partnership between Milestone and NVIDIA:
“The synergies with Milestone seemed obvious to us more than 3 years ago already and today we are meeting on a common technological and business strategy: that of allowing video to express its full potential thanks to AI. While all markets are concerned by the super powers offered by video analytics, we will initially target the ‘Smart Space’ market, intelligent spaces.”
