On 4 June, a conference of ministers will be held on GAIA-X, the Franco-German project for a European Data Infrastructure. Representatives of the German and French federal governments, as well as scientific and business institutions from both countries have worked together with other European partners to create a new generation secure European data infrastructure: GAIA-X.

This Franco-German project was presented for the first time at the Digital Summit in October 2019. Based on use cases from numerous economic and public sector domains, representatives from nearly 300 companies and organizations have designed a technical architecture that guarantees secure data exchange and can serve as the basis for a complete data management ecosystem.
The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and the French Ministry of Economy and Finance (MINEFI) invite you to the presentation of the first results.

Join a live conference by the German Federal Minister of Economics and Energy Peter Altmaier and the French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire on 4 June at 13.00 hrs, followed by a GAIA-X expert forum until 17.00 hrs. Here is the programme of the event: HERE.

What to expect from this event?

The discussions will start with a live intervention of the German Federal Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmaier and the French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire. This will be followed by a contribution from the German Federal Minister of Education and Research (BMBF), Anja Karliczek (tbc).

Representatives of the German and French companies involved in the project will then explain their role in the project and their motivations for participating.
The GAIA-X expert forum that will follow will provide participants with a detailed presentation of the technical and organisational implementation of GAIA-X. Use cases will be presented and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions to the GAIA-X project experts.
