WISeKey International Holding, a company specializing in the fields of cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT), has launched its laboratory, located in Meyreuil, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. This new WISeKey center will specialize in Artificial Intelligence of Objects (AIoT) and will combine AI, IoT and cybersecurity to test and verify the current state of IoT security of networked devices.
The WISeKey laboratory is compliant with the international ISO 27001 certification for information security and will provide IoT-compliant devices, on and off network, using digital identification and AI to continuously analyze the IoT behavior of terminals, with the aim of identifying cyber risks, protecting critical information and systems, and isolating suspicious or malicious devices.
It uses AI-based automation to refocus the attention of companies from simply managing their current IoT operations to innovation and technological advancement and helps engineers solve the unique IoT challenges they face in automotive, communications, computing, consumer, industrial, medical, aerospace and defense applications.
“The WISeKey lab will leverage its 30 years of experience in designing hardware and software that can withstand cyber attacks while meeting the highest certification standards. Taking a holistic approach to the system has always been part of our DNA: from its architecture and design, through manufacturing and a highly complex supply chain, to its integration and deployment in the field and the provision of identification information.
We believe that each step plays an important role in ensuring the security of the final solution. This unique experience and expertise is part of the benefits that our customers will benefit from through our laboratory offerings,” said Bernard VIAN, Director of the WISeKey Laboratory.
“In addition, we are working hard to implement counter-measures against Deep Learning attacks, which will be very useful for brands that deploy connected devices. The use of AI algorithms and predictive maintenance implemented through AIoT, through our partnership with arago, allows us to quickly provide valuable information to our customers. »
The WISeKey Lab offers clients IoT security evaluation and auditing services, including semiconductor design and encryption, source code, black box testing, and intrusion testing. The company’s strategy of leveraging its laboratory through long-term relationships with strategic partners and start-ups working on IoT and its derivatives is aimed at attracting a stable volume of high-end customers with high demand for IoT cyber security solutions such as AI, digital identity and privacy, secure mobile communication, secure cloud computing, IoT, secure semiconductors and other innovative technologies.
WISeKey AIoT integrates semiconductors, intelligent sensors, IoT systems, AI and a data cloud to provide customers with a unique offering to drive innovation and digital transformation. Using WISeKey’s cybersecurity technology and IoT network, data will be collected in HIRO (arago’s AI-based data and knowledge automation platform), where it can be processed and, through automation, used in real-time in a highly secure environment.
The AIoT is the brain that will power the nervous system of the network of IoT objects operating in the WISeKey ecosystem that currently connects more than 1.6 billion secure IoT devices with WISeKey VaultIC. With the introduction of 5G, the ecosystem will continue to grow at a much faster rate as this technology will connect every object, person and machine.
AIoT will enable the integration of AI into key infrastructure components of the ecosystem, including RoT (trusted root), semiconductors and edge computing. Dedicated APIs are then used to ensure interoperability between components at the device, software and platform level to optimize system and network operations.
The data processed through AIoT is then collected and made available to extract value and improve information and market knowledge for customers. AIoT also enables the secure automation of business actions and decisions based on real-time data, and facilitates the independent operation of the IoT with minimal human intervention, unlike the current state of the market which requires all actions to be pre-coded according to pre-defined scenarios.
Through the use of AI algorithms and predictive maintenance implemented via AIoT, IoT devices will have the ability to dynamically determine decision making actions with automatic programming based on customer-defined analysis and knowledge, resulting in reduced operating and maintenance costs for vendors.
The value of adding AI to the WISeKey platform lies in its ability to quickly provide information from data. Machine learning, an AI technology, automatically detects patterns and anomalies in the data collected by sensors and intelligent devices such as temperature, pressure, humidity, air quality, vibration and sound.
