A Symposium on Artificial Intelligence is organized on July 12 and 13, 2022 in Paris in honor of the 20th anniversary of the MIT-France Fund.

This fund was created in 2000 within the MISTI (MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives) and finances the program of the same name. Each year, 80 students from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) leave for France to do scientific internships in research laboratories of public institutions, universities, grandes écoles or in large companies.

This event is organized by the Science and Technology Service of the French Embassy in the United States, with the support of the Consulate General of France in Boston, MIT, and Inria, as coordinator of the research component of the National Artificial Intelligence Research Program (PNRIA), under the high patronage of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

The conference will address the most advanced research topics in artificial intelligence, based on the main axes of the GPAI (Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence), in the fields of health, environment, data privacy, future of work and ethics.

MIT is sending 15 of its top researchers and professors to the event, and will be accompanied by their French counterparts. The presidents of Inria, CNRS and CEA will also be present, as well as the President of MIT, Rafael Reif, who will say a few words at the opening of the symposium.
