After launching the Confiance.ai collective on July 1, the 13 industrial and academic players taking part in the project have announced a call for expressions of interest. The selected start-ups will be invited to participate in one of the priority actions of the national artificial intelligence strategy. An online information meeting will be held on July 9, from 10 am to 12 pm.
A call for expressions of interest to participate in the priority actions of the national AI strategy
The call for expressions of interest (AMI) launched by the Confiance.ai collective offers start-ups who wish to participate in one of the priority actions of the national artificial intelligence strategy, namely: to contribute to the development of a trustworthy environment to industrialize the integration of artificial intelligence in critical and strategic systems (autonomous vehicles, medical devices, robotics, avionics, etc.).
SMEs can also participate in this AMI where all selected participants will be able to advance their technologies on critical use cases, while contributing to the resolution of the technological locks of the project: trust and learning data, trust and human interaction and trust and system engineering with AI components.
Contribute to the development of a trust environment
Image recognition, voice recognition, natural language processing, time series processing, process supervision and optimization, integration on embedded targets: these are the potential use cases on which start-ups and SMEs will be able to work within the framework of one of the seven projects of the program. They will receive funding to test their technologies and advance them in interaction with the project partners.
An information meeting for all interested contributors will be held on 9 July from 10am to 12pm. Applications will be open until September 3, 2021, 12 noon. During the fourth quarter of 2021, the selected SMEs and start-ups will start their work. These companies will be able to participate in a hackathon on a set of technological challenges during the first quarter of 2022.
Confiance.ai: the collective that advocates trusted AI in industry
The Confiance.ai program launched on July 1 is a technological pillar of the grand challenge “Securing, making reliable and certifying systems based on artificial intelligence” as part of the future investment program (PIA) and the national strategy #AIforHumanity.
It brings together 13 industrial and academic players: Air Liquide, Airbus, Atos, Naval Group, Renault, Safran, Sopra Steria, Thales, Valeo, as well as the CEA, Inria, the IRT Saint Exupéry and the IRT SystemX. The group is receiving €45 million in funding over four years to provide an environment to support design, validation and testing in order to strengthen the explainability and confidence of AI systems and move towards certification.
