Atos announces the acquisition of Ipsotek to strengthen its offering in edge computing and video analytics

On April 20, 2021, Atos has just announced three acquisitions with a view to strengthening its position in several sectors: cybersecurity, digital transformation of the industrial sector, edge computing and video analysis using artificial intelligence. German Cryptovision, Canadian Processia and British Ipsotek will join the ranks of French company Atos. These three arrivals confirm Atos’ desire to strengthen its digital services portfolio.

Video analysis and edge computing strengthened by artificial intelligence

The first acquisition announced by Atos is that of Ipsotek, a provider of AI-enhanced video analytics software. One of the video analytics solutions developed by the British firm is a scalable AI platform called VISuite. It allows users to manage alerts generated in real time and offers features such as multi-camera monitoring. This software can be used in a number of contexts: in crowd management, smoke detection, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, license plate recognition or traffic management.

With this acquisition, Atos aims to provide a complete solution for all players in the public sector, retail, manufacturing, transportation, or critical infrastructure. In doing so, it seeks to strengthen its solution offering in the field of AI and machine learning at the network edge, specifically in computer vision.

A strengthening in the cybersecurity and Industry 4.0 sectors

Atos also announced that it has completed the acquisition of two other companies – Processia, a Canadian product lifecycle management systems integrator and Cryptovision, a German company specializing in advanced cryptographic products and solutions for securing digital identities.

With Processia, Atos hopes to enhance its existing service offering of Siemens, PTC and Dassault Systèmes technologies while expanding its presence in North America and Europe. The French firm aims to strengthen its capabilities to better support the digital transformation of industrial companies.

With Cryptovision, Atos wants to strengthen its portfolio of solutions and products in the field of cybersecurity. The German company is renowned for its solutions that are certified by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and accredited by NATO.
