September is inevitably associated with the start of the new school year, when 12.8 million primary and secondary school students return to school. EvidenceB, a start-up combining cognitive science and artificial intelligence, offers a module called Adaptativ’Langue. Some 500,000 high school students in the Paris region will be able to use this new tool to improve their command of the French language.
500,000 students in the Paris region will be able to benefit from a tool to improve their command of the French language
For more than a year, the Adaptativ’Langue module has been the subject of an experiment conducted by the Île-de-France region with the aim of offering concrete solutions to teachers in their teaching practice. Thus, the Paul Valéry secondary school in the 12th arrondissement of Paris has been able to exploit the benefits of the Adaptiv’ Langue project.
Following these tests, Adaptiv’Langue will be integrated from September onwards into the ENTs of the high schools in the Île-de-France region, where almost 500,000 high school students will be able to benefit from a new tool to help them study the French language in a motivating and interactive way. The aim of this new resource will be to help students overcome difficulties in mastering the language.
Adaptiv’Langue offers 5 modules with 6,000 exercises. The AI engine will allow to adjust the allocation of exercises to each student according to his difficulties, in order to allow him a continuous personalized course and to progress at his own pace. A dashboard will allow the student to see his progress and the teacher to easily follow the progress of his students, towards the mastery of the module’s objectives.
Artificial intelligence to combat student dropout
The module works with an artificial intelligence engine and more specifically with culstering algorithms. Thanks to this technology, EvidenceB aims to adapt to the profile and strengths of each student, by quickly identifying possible learning difficulties and thus, to fight against the risk of dropping out of school. Thierry de Vulpillières, CEO of EvidenceB said about the arrival of Adaptiv’Langue:
“Digital and Artificial Intelligence will now enter all high school classrooms in Île-de-France to reinforce teachers and allow them to better adjust their teaching to each student. We are particularly proud that this key step in the advent of personalized education has been taken through EvidenceB. This is tremendous recognition for our approach and technology and we thank the region for their confidence!”
EvidenceB is not new to the solution. Last April, the firm introduced Atticus, an AI-powered digital platform for studying Latin, in partnership with the Pearson Group.
